4WD – 4 Women Drive

Celebrating National Sisters Day last week-end made me reflect on why I love my three angels and what makes working with them so special.

Ada. She is as determined as she is generous – whether it is with her time, her ideas or her network. I started my career working by her side at Alchimie Forever and some things she taught me still guide me on a daily basis (such as “kill her with kindness”; keep up with our blog and you will discover what lies behind this great piece of advice!). I admire her tenacity and her work ethic.

Cyrille. She is powered by creativity and delicate at heart. Our relationship has had its ups and downs, but the last 5 years have been absolutely perfect. We are a team, whether in life or at work. I protect her, and she supports me… I admire her sense of aesthetics and her prose.

Roxane. She is as altruistic as she is secretive. It is amazing to watch her becoming the next Dr. Polla – with the humility that is so characteristic of her. She often acts as our mirror: she is a strong listener; she is a woman of few words, but when she says something… we are all ears! I admire her enthusiasm and her kindness.

The four of us are driven by faith, hope, love, and luck, and bring to our three family businesses (Alchimie Forever, Forever Institut, and Forever Boutique) a unique mix of ambition, persistence, audacity and passion.

We learned a lot about our approach to family business during INSEAD’s Family Entreprise Challenge, an executive program we attended with our father when he decided it was time for us sisters, the “second generation,” to get more involved. It was there that we embraced our ambition to grow our businesses together. During those four days together, we drafted a shareholder agreement and launched a family council; we talked about our complementary forces and core values – including love; and we made the commitment to discuss professional matters on a regular basis (via Skype and in person), and to always find a way to enjoy sisterly-fun-times when we all meet.

What are your experiences working with family? 😊
