As a working mother, my nights out are rare and precious. I look forward to each and every one of them and have come up with a “night out ritual” to enhance the positive feelings they create for me. Here’s how I get prepped, feel sexy and energized in 30 minutes max.
Rule number 1: I start fresh. Taking a shower after my work day is like turning a page and creating a new beginning.
Rule number 2: I create a mood. I choose my music as carefully as I do my clothes. They both influence and mirror my mood. Beyonce, Hôtel Costes compilations and Imagine Dragons are part of my current playlists.
Rule number 3: I never get dressed before I apply my makeup. I am way too clumsy to take that risk!
Rule number 4: I use the best products on my skin. Starting with Alchimie Forever products, I mix a little bit of Kantic Brightening moisture mask with my moisturizer to benefit from the glow . My favorite foundation is Ellis Faas, which I layer with Chado’s Poudre Essentielle HD and a blend of their two blushes.
When it comes to makeup, my priorities are both eyes and lips. Depending on my outfit, I typically wear smoky or green eyes to which I add a touch of Ellis Faas E301 light. Their lights are magical and miraculous, they give me that hot and sparkly look. Sometimes, I slightly color-in my eyebrows. This last step is one I only recently added to my makeup routine, as it is a tip which Forever Boutique’s makeup artist – Shannon – gave me. While during the day I usually go for natural lips (I adore Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Lip Neutral Rose), my evenings are all about sensuality. Ellis Faas creamy lips red L401 and Hot Lips pink L406 always give a beautiful highlight to lips.
My face done, I’m almost ready to go. I slip into my dress, slip on my heels, place my lipsticks (including my must-have Chado’s Gloss Excquis) in my clutch, and come out of the bathroom feeling like I own my night. My favorite moment? When my love looks at me in awe… now I know my ritual was successful and I am ready to take on the evning – either with him, or leaving him to spend the evening with my girlfriends, knowing he will think of me all night.
